I think the Bible writers were writing to a time and a place and a capacity, so it was not so much that things were being withheld, rather they responded to the spirit of the age. The Bible represents of point in human history, not the totality of the human spiritual condition. New religions will appear and they will reveal a progressive revelation of the mysteries.
