I sort of agree with you regarding karma, but we are approaching it differently. We are all subject to karma in that we all fall short of our allotted capacity and justice would be served by each individual being aware of how they have fallen short and the consequences thereof.

I don't think self-forgiveness is possible, nor will ever resolve a need for atonement as a surer path to resolving past failings..
