Consolidation is fine with me, too. (If only to give less reason for the noise surrounding it)
But right now, the harm is it takes mgmt's eyes off the ball - don't you think if they thought it important they'd be doing something about it? Getting the SP to double digits will take care of (most) of the traders looking for a couple of pips.
