Hi kincella .. the secret is to enjoy creating art which you seem to do.

You could also join an 'art group' .. most old hands willing to mentor within the group.

Or if interested, you could join art courses ... some allow students to study as 'casual' such as life drawing, oil painting etc ...

Also, 'style' is important so as to not blur techniques .. my fav is what is called 'tonal realism' in charcoal.
