Well the difference between "reserves" and "resources" as you pointed out certainly takes care of my initial skepticism.
Can you spare me further reading of definition of reserve and explain how recovery rate is treated with reserves? Is it simply in ground or is it the recoverable amount. I'm guessing the former... Chile is all brine and brine recovery rate is quite low.
Would you also pay any attention to how restrictive Chilean government is on amount of brine pumping (environmental concerns)? IE if calculating "amount of lithium available for batteries until 2030" this should be taken into consideration?
Also think some of those reserves (Zim) are petalite which is not currently used for battery applications but ceramic/glass. Not a significant point.
Ill come back to this after looking further at China defined reserves.
