and @ianwill that's only because govts have put policies in place that stop investment in coal fired power. If we were all as heavily reliant on renewables we'd have constant blackouts. Battery tech simply isn't ready for such large scale intermittent power. One day probably but it ain't there yet, regardless of what "reneweconomy" or the greens tell you.
Btw, if you don't agree, where in the world is there a country reliant on wind and/or solar that doesn't have coal/nuclear/gas backup? There isn't one!
