People who are insecure in the beliefs need to attack any form of contradiction.
If they feel they can impune the intellectual capability of that person then they can feel more secure.

State your case. If people disagree then let it pass unless it is those you care about and then you can argue till you are blue in the face and you know you still care about them and they you and still respect each other.
