I don't know if such research exists. If it did it would probably prove that relying on any one indicator would be a failure. It's up to us to put all the available information together and make a decision.
re trading plans. Did you read the link that Ange provided? That pretty much sums up how to develop your own plan. Do I have one? I did have one. Not everything went to plan so now I'm refining and adding contingencies etc, might take me a long time to get it right, or I might have to constantly improvise and improve.
