Assuming only three possibilities! Philosophically feeble!
Maybe god is the ground substance from which everything springs, except that it isn't a substance as such, nor is it personal, nor caring, nor compassionate. Just an infinite and infinitely powerful 'suchness' beyond all attempts the mind uses to identify or classify.
