On a past holiday trip via Tokyo I checked out the price of Canon printer cartidges.

I bought some for my current printer at the equivalent of $A9.50 against the retail price here of $22.50. Even on Ebay the best I could find was around $18.00.

Got onto one of my ex staff from my previous working stint in Tokyo and have asked him to buy me a few more - landed cost will be about $11.00.

If you do have contacts in Japan and wish to order your some for yourself then (a) use SAL as the means of posting (its pretty cheap) and (b) keep the total order cost (including postage) below $500. This way you will avoid and import (GST) duties.
