for a short while I was a member of a singularity group on Facebook I removed myself when I realised that the idea of living for thousands of years (which was apparently the goal of sone of the members ) held no appeal. I realised I was getting old and the thought of people simply repeating history and thinking they were novel (which is what most of us do to some extent) and doing that for centuries held no fascination for me.
