I believe you are correct about that. I rang the bullion dealer in Brisy yesterday and they prefer cash and you have to have ID after 10000. The only thing I would add is if you take it out of your bank I think the bank has reporting obligations over 5000 but I could be wrong about that amount! They did stop a $20,000 transfer of mine just the other day because they thought it was suspicious activity.
