Could be that they are relying on GGG being the only REE mine in Greenland
EPM undermines that since it to can be a REE mine with much less risk to the environment and exposure to radioactive materials, since its operated before. By losing a strong case of "we are your only hope to bring Greenland a REE producing company" and instead getting "we don't need mine with a huge deposit of Uranium, due to government and public stance on the mining of radioactive material"
