NewSat appoints new COO
NewSat Limited (ASX:NWT) has appointed Chris Frith to the senior executive
position of Chief Operating Officer for the leading independent satellite services
provider.
"Chris Frith will continue the upskilling and emphasis on practical management
solutions at NewSat which has been a strategy put in place by the Board over the
last 12 months," said NewSat CEO, Adrian Ballintine.
"His wide experience in satellite technology, marketing, operations and
management are a great fit for the senior management team at NewSat and will help
drive the company forward to achieve its goals."
Frith joins NewSat from consultancy AUSPresence and multiple roles at Optus
Wholesale & Satellite. His final position at Optus was VSAT Wholesale Channel
Development Manager and prior to that he developed VSAT satellite products for
Optus and led a marketing team as a Group Product Marketing Manager.
Prior to these roles Frith consulted in India, France, Italy and the UK in technical
sectors and was an Electronics Engineering officer of the RAAF.
Frith has a MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management, Sydney,
Officer leadership training from the RAAF and a Bachelor of Engineering
(Computer Engineering) from the University of Newcastle.
The sales and engineering and operations divisions of NewSat will come under
Frith's wing while finance and HR will continue to report to Company Secretary and
CFO, Adam Shapiro.

Chris Frith –
Chris is an experienced business developer with a strong record in commercialising technology and driving complex projects. Following a successful career as an Engineering Officer in the Air Force, the past 12 years have been in international telecommunications projects, developing businesses, products, systems and solutions. A Master of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management supplements this experience.

Chris has held senior positions at Optus Pty Ltd where he developed a number of products and established the wholesale channel for VSAT products including the implementation of a new billing system. His experience also spans managing an ISP and software production of telecommunications billing systems in the UK.

Chris holds a Computer Engineering Degree from the University of Newcastle and a Master of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management.
