There is always new technology on the horizon. The QHL process was invented in 1995 and the patent expires in 2015 (though there are a number of other patents). It is now 2011 and the aviation is yet to accept it as means of producing composite aviation parts. Why, because they are extremely slow and conservative. Any newer technology will face an equally long and tedious path to market and if the QHL process is delivering an effective and economical way to make those parts the path will be even harder for new technologies.
