I don't disagree with your suggestion that this probably could not manipulate the price, but that is hardly the point.

There are rules which you and I have to abide by to participate in the market, but apparently these rules do not apply to all. That gets up my nose ... not that this example is a very flagrant one if you compare it to something like naked shorting, for instance, which, so far as I know, still has not been outlawed.

It's just another example of different rules for different people.I'm just always amazed how blatantly such things go on ... and how few people complain about them. That's amazing too.
