If the Voice is going to solve the indigenous issues why does it have to be permanently in the constitution?
By default having it as a permanent body says it will never solve indigenous issues otherwise when it solved Indigenous issues it would be there permanently with no purpose.
This whole Voice proposal has been a complete mess from the start.
All the major issues facing indigenous people are the responsibility of the States & Teritories not the Federal government (education, health, crime, housing).
Any Voice should therefore be at a State or Territory level to actually make a difference.
SA has already past legislation for a SA Voice, why not wait to see whether that actually has any positive outcomes in 5 years time before any other Voice bodies are set-up?
