Former Nationals MP Andrew Gee, is scathing of the current tactics of the federal opposition. There is a danger in being by governed by polls. You never stand for anything You never vote for anything You never move the country forward. There is a lot of misguided politics behind the no side. If they think that opposing the voice the way they are, if they think that’s the way to political salvation, they have rocks in their headThat’s the way to political ruin. Gee posed the question: if the vote doesn’t get up where does that leave conservative side of politics? They will be seen as reconciliation wreckers. At end of the day, Opposing the voice isn’t going to get your seats on the northern beaches back …. (He names electorates that went to the teals)Politically I think it is the road to ruin for them.To borrow from JFK, that type of victory will be ashes in their mouth because they’ll have lost a traditional base that would otherwise have put them into power.
