I was looking at the translation of the fund inflows into net profit for MFG. Which is insignificant when you consider MFG is a $1b market valued company now (in effect, you're now paying $1b for a contribution of $8m to your bottom line). And my bad, FUM has grown $2b in the Dec Q. Those sorts of rates are nigh impossible to sustain. Even if MFG was to add $8b to FUM in a year, then net profit per share would increase 20c for that year. It hardly justifies the prices paid on the shares.
There's nothing extraordinary about their stock selections. Diversified Blue Chips! They're ideal for conservative investors looking for regular income.

I don't know why you keep assuming people make money as a share price increases. Because the numbers on your portfolio now says $100,000 instead of $50,000?
I'm looking for stocks to short. It's not my fault the Investment Management stocks have popped up as being ridiculously pricey because investment managers are price pushing the sector, viz pumping :)
