The way things are going the AMP would be more likely to shut the doors on the UK operation and hope the resulting writedowns were less than the cost of the ongoing bleeding due to the capital guarentees built into the products the UK subsidiaries have been marketing.
Unless the UK bourse is about to suddenly head up, then the three UK businesses are almost limitlessly big black holes....
