I think some folks confuse religion and science.
Religion is founded on faith: belief without proof. Science provides knowledge using on evidence.

If the leading scientists of the world using evidence gained from rigorous data collection and proven analysis reckon the warming of the planet is going to affect the productivity and well-being of nations, then I tend t think it is worth accounting for when investing. In respect to Nearmap, IMHO the likely increase in severe weather would only increase the market for their product in the short term.
That said, the ability of organisations and people to buy products in general will reduce with loss of productivity and resources in the longer term.
