Activities resulting in global climate change are expected to trigger droughts with a substantial impact on agriculture throughout the world, and especially in developing nations. Along with drought in some areas, flooding and erosion could increase in others.

BTW only litre of desal water requires 5kWh to produce, as much as around half the daily consumption of electricity from a family home. Thats a sheet load of energy for something we take for granted. And we burn coal to product it!
