    So as per my previous post those in Thessalonica that accepted Paul's preaching were not being gullible but had a solid basis for their faith.
    (1 Thessalonians 2:13) Indeed, that is why we also thank God incessantly, because when YOU received God’s word, which YOU heard from us, YOU accepted it, not as the word of men, but, just as it truthfully is, as the word of God, which is also at work in YOU believers.

    Paul praised the response of those that use the Scriptures to ascertain the truth.

    Acts17:10?Immediately by night the brothers sent both Paul and Silas out to Be·roe'a, and these, upon arriving, went into the synagogue of the Jews. 11?Now the latter were more noble-minded than those in Thes·sa·lo·ni'ca, for they received the word with the greatest eagerness of mind, carefully examining the Scriptures daily as to whether these things were so.
