"That would have to be the most tenuous connection in the history of imagination."
Though directed at Mr G., that one is a keeper !!
"Rutherford declared that "religion was introduced into the world by the Devil."
I'm relying on your claim here but if it's true, Rutherford was definitely onto something. Though you don't document what he may have understood by the word "Devil".
"Rutherford was probably an alcoholic, those who knew him said he was very fond of whiskey and women."
Also, if true, this is a fine qualification for a questioning and remorseful soul who has "plumbed his depths" and emerged with a genuine footnote.
Personally, though accepting that the religious view is not for me .. I respect those who have somehow managed to spawn another stream ... despite the myriad others ... let alone that JW's now appeals to millions !
Any of your marketing campaigns .. even close to this ?
As a side note .. when Mr G. .. if he lives long enough .. sees that he actually IMHO now has enough to branch out on his own .. makes a formal alternative "true path" ...
For those I see who need religion, I'll be recommending them to look him up.

Of course none of us are in a position to no the truth of the matter. It's good to see you reserve judgement Copperbod. Some are only too eager to embrace smut. Jesus had to deal with similar allegations.
(Matthew 11:19) The Son of man did come eating and drinking, but people say, ‘Look! A man who is a glutton and is given to drinking wine, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ All the same, wisdom is proved righteous by its works.”
