A neighbour also didn’t maintain his land and it was infested with thistle. I have used weed killer but in my head I am a reluctant user. It works well, especially if used reasonably regularly to keep it down but there’s a price to pay. First it takes time. It is not a doddle- I was the one who did it and even with a quad and spray equipment it took me hours to do. It required the right conditions - no wind to control drift, early in the morning was best, no rain and I’d wear full cover protective gear. Second it kills the weeds but everything else as well so you then have to work out what yo do with that. Theoretically it has short residue but I don’t believe that - the evidence is in front of you. will I keep doing it - probably but increasingly less as I don’t actually like it

I don't like chemicals either or chemical companies. We have the experience of the IG Farben sponsored Monsanto as testiment to that, with their many deaths and environmental damage in Latin America well proven.
