Rock chip samples are a start but as you said let the drill bit do the talking... At CXO's massive Ringwood target rock chip samples showed up to 3.1% lithium but once drilled there were massive intercepts but with basically no lithium. KSN had the same thing with rock chips over 4% in some areas but minimal decent hits of lithium.
Not saying GPP results will be good or but, just that rock chip analysis is unreliable other than confirming there might be some lithium below.
