Please explain further. Who or what does she lose leverage over?
Certainly this comment was applicable (whether or not appropriate) back when the SMSL rallies were garnering lots of coverage and earning her fans and voters, but that has run its course.
Now it seems most likely Kuantan residents want to hear they are safe, that Lynas is a good employer and safeguards their environment. If this is not true, certainly Fuziah will have to address it, but if it is true, she stands to gain credibility by showing she is not an inflexible opportunistic political hack, but a reasonable politician who championed their right to know.
In the recent election, she won 44% of the votes cast, with two other parties evenly splitting the remainder. That's a good showing, not unassailable. She won't lose many voters if she successfully resolves this, only the most unreasonable and inflexible, while she may gain many who like a good economy and don't want a crazy woman rocking the boat for political gain.
Remember Bukit Merah.
