einstein, I have no issue with spending the kids inheritance. Personaly I will makes sure my kids will be left some thing.
When we talk of a $1m property this doesn't nessasarly mean a mansion, it could just be an older home in a good area that is just land value.
While you would not be living the high life, if you own your own home you could live quite comfortly on a pension. Car holidays? you can use equity if you want
