I'm respectful of market trends AverageJoe but also accept the reality that nearly all technical traders lose money. I like to have as many reasons as possible before buying or selling something. For example, for a buy I might think that the stock is cheap vs cash flow and vs peers, the news flow should be good, the sector trend is up, the stock trend is up and it tends to outperform recently on bad news. Although some of that is subjective, if you always have six reasons to trade, you strike rate is probably better than most.
