Ok...I'll devote myself to being a screen jockey today on GDN with your views in mind but I will add that the nature of this market with empowered individuals who have access to serious cash and live transaction abilities...in my mind...are more likeley to provide the same depth/prices changes you speak of. In fact I guess I'm saying that most attempts at manipulation would come from the retail market who are not beholden to the myriad levels of regulations and regulators that brokers are beholden to. There is no compliance officer looking over Joe Bloes shoulder when he enters a bid/offer then pulls said line for whatever reason from the privacy of his home.
Having said that, it certainly does happen on occasion, i just dont think its with the frequency and the parties you propose
