Why so angry? As a sovereign nation, digging bauxite and polluting our own land are definitely poor environmental practices. However, the derived economic benefit spread over a wide swathe of community. If you know the issue well, the bauxite pollution dragged on for 2 years before it was eventually stopped. Why? Because so many people benefited from it. In contrast, Lynas provides very little benefit to the community at large, except for the 600 jobs it created. Look if you are so cock sure Lynas is such an important part of the Malaysian economy, then the sell-off is a wonderful opportunity to top up. Surely, Malaysia will want to keep all of it to itself, even the waste, if it's such an important contributor to the economy. Cheer up mate, why so angry?
