It's precisely because you and I want to buy, it's less likely to sell-off.
Money managers are in the game long-term. They don't care if they're underwater for a while. Super funds, mutual funds, instos that are long and making serious cash have no incentive to sell in an uptrend (considering that they don't sell in a downtrend).
Let's say I'm sitting on billions of dollars generating 15% on an unbroken uptrend? Would I take a breather or would I wait for some information that tells me that the trend is about to change? I'd wait for the latter and not sell unless something changes. Same with money managers.
