Reciprocating. My biggest loss was on RFG and I knew the franchise food industry very well. What I did not understand was the nefarious activities of management. There was a lot of anecdotal evidence but I thought it just cannot be that bad. So I learned that if you see smoke go and have a good look and see if there is a fire even if that is against your instincts.
That saved me on Servcorp (SRV) when I sold out 2 years ago at $5.80 and today it trades at $2.60. And back then the shared service office sector was on fire but a big gorilla WeWork was coming and the sector became overcrowded with WeWork expanding rapidly on huge borrowings. Also rumours were circulating about major problems at its rebuilt World Trade Centre offering in New York.
The BNPL sector is hot right now and I am sure you must think about will it last and will it continue to grow at the current warp speed.
