Unfortunately, the media never give the whole story, nor the truth, for that matter. We are only told what is needed to provoke an emotional response to serve their own diabolical purpose.
Unless we were in the courtroom to hear what evidence was presented, it is impossibly to know if the Magistrate's decision was just.
My opinion is that the dog owner should be imprisoned for such an offence. Thus, we could only hope that he would be gang raped each and every day during his stay.

However, criminal courts are very different to civil courts.
Having said that, though, I doubt if a solicitor representing the grieving family would advice on pursuing the criminal if their was no chance of them getting any compensation from him.
