"Then the owner says 'I't couldn't possibly be predicted' "
..And the owner can sometimes be right!
Fair crack,123. Dogs can lose the plot just like humans...
45-50 years back here in WA we had a spate of attacks by Alsations/German Shepherds on family members that had looked after them & fed them for years.....attacks that shocked and WERE completely unpredictable. My wife's family had one. Went from a loving/loved pet to a crazed animal in seconds & had to be shot. Just like that.
Why? The damn things were as loopy as a blue-blood royal from in-breeding. Unsterilised Alsations were banned in WA back then out of fear they could go bush & mate with Dingos, creating an awesome sheep-killing machine, which HAS happened. Virtually all of these dogs came from the same breeding stock over many years & were totally in-bred.
So who would you have blamed then? What do you recommend for the future? Kill every dog that can bite above ankle height? Or lock up everyone that even thinks of getting a larger dog?
