    It's a pity the article did not mention what the actual charge was ?
    But, I would hazard a guess that it was only in retaliation to a breach of the dangerous dog act.

    The grieving family still have the right to pursue the dog owner through the civil courts. And this could run into hundreds of thousand of dollars in compensation.
