I'm fairly certain that they are not just testing the winding speed.They know what that is already from the 1st attempt. If they are, they will have made improvements to it such as increasing kibble size or improving the winding speed although I doubt that is what they are doing.
The most sense out of this dry run is they are seeing how the whole pilot setup is working so they can see where the weaknesses are and improve on them before starting production.
I agree with the chief in that they will probably have a stab at some of the higher levels as well as Maxwells to see what the hauling rate can be for those levels and also what they need to do to the existing infrastructure to make it better.
All of this would seem silly without some mining because it would be a huge waste of time hauling sand up and down so I'm sure we have a mining crew or two ironing out their bugs as well.
I think PHB is behind this bigtime since he hasn't seen these things work yet. Also I think NG is leaving nothing to chance this time.
