It's actually the worst H1 for SPX since 1970..
That year saw losses of 21% for H2
However H2 in that same year saw gains of 27%...
Compare that to gold
Gold was flat H1 in the corresponding year
H2 saw modest gains a little less than 10%
What's more interesting for gold bugs is what happened after...
In the next 18mths gold kicked on to gains of around 100%!!!
Should we expect the same?
Who knows but should pique a few investors interests to look at how and why these moves took place and if there is potentially any similarities...
