This latest flurry of discussion about domestic violence

did it not all really take off with the Bondi attacks ----------- and it took off seemingly because of the fact that women seemed to be targeted (even though men were killed and wounded).

Fairly interesting to see that it morphed into a raging debate on domestic violence - or at least was petrol on the fire.

What should be noted though is that --------- the 'choosing' of female targets and a child in Bondi - wasn't really a 'male violence' issue -

it was nothing more than a basic animal instinct of selecting the weak and avoiding the strong ------

all one has to do is to watch almost any footage of any animal hunting ---------- you see the predator -

going after the weaker ------- that can be a young one, that can be a female, that can be a smaller male

predators don't go for the biggest and strongest --------- they go for what they can catch and kill

I'm afraid that violence is us ------- it's us and it's many other animals as well -------- it's the 'wonder of life' so to speak

so - to change such behaviours ------------- we are not only going to have  to change the character of humans, we are going to have to change something that is so basic in any animal that engages in violence

IMO - big ask, we are nothing but a predatory animal
