    Hi all

Over the holiday break I was doing some research on the various Namibian uranium deposits. Looking at an aerial picture Rossing, I was struck by the location of the deposit in relation to the Dome. Looking further, I noted that virtually all of the primary hosted uranium deposits are in fact associated with Dome Structures. BUT, there are more similarities. We have:

    Rossing - Rossing Dome
    Anomaly A - Palmenhurst Dome
    Onbega - Rossingburg Dome
    Husab - Ida Dome
    Valencia - un-named structure

So I got to thinking ... coincidence, or not? I was able to get hold of a few "understandable" books on geology, along with various websites. Some reading & study and it soon became quite clear that a coincidence, it is not!

In fact, most major gold & base metal deposits & mines, both past & present - remember Placer Dome? - are associated with Dome-like structures, or arcuate structures, as they are often referred to (emphasis on ARC)

The Damara Belt, located in Namibia, is riddled with Dome-Structures, and their relationship to uranium deposits is already mentioned above.

    Below are some quotes:

    1]
The role dome structures have over gravitational instabilities in evolving orogens, melt migration and melt ascent mechanisms, controls of fluid flow and ore mineralization
*Interpreted extension "gravity slide" structures off the granitic dome, defined by interpreted metamorphic hydrothermal fluid indicators
*Interpreted to straddle a large, regionally prospective structure.
*Interpreted anti-formal structural position off the nose of Dome structures as a potential mineral deposition site.

    Advances in Solid Earth Sciences
The fundamental elements of various geological bodies are often arcs, boundaries of rock bodies, dome structures, and the like. Geophysical analysis tell us that most gold deposits distribute in the peripheral areas of mantle swells, and on the edge parts of basins.

Plunging crowns and the nose of folds are all promising places for ore accumulation. Therefore research of geophysical information indicates that arcuate (bowed or curved) structures influence the allocation of ore bodies. Such research convinces one that arcuate structures are most promising in the search for large and superlarge mineral deposits.

So in summation, we understand that Dome Structures naturally acted as ore collection points. When you look at the pic below you see the direct of the melt flow when the earths crust was forming, this corresponds with the direction of EACH of the Domes in qustion.

Interestingly in each case, the ore collected at the NOSE, or side of the dome ... see pics that follow:
