I agree. I guess many won’t. And it’s not that I think it was better for my parents generation in many ways but I don’t think we have it right in any way shape or form. I am however increasingly aware that at a social level I am deeply conservative. While I have been the breadwinner in my long term marriage and short term pain it was as much from a sense of responsibility and obligation as it was because I was a feminist.
the other day the conversation included reference to Africa - the comment was made that there they have little and life is no easy walk - but they have much joy despite that. Here we have much more externally but souls are empty.
