IMO - our 'normal' living arrangements are very limited in imagination. IMO all of that kind of thing is socially engineered and is not necessarily at all how we would live if allowed to be 'natural'
for me - if I were to choose -??? I'd probably fit nicely into a monkstyle existence as long as the girls were allowed to visit for an hour or 2 a day on request. The rest of the time, not to be annoyed by others. Travel when one wanted to where one wanted to and perhaps the odd barbies with mates who you only caught up with on such occasions. Lots of thinking time ----------- and a really good electronic PA to record thoughts and observations well.
