A recent trip to Vietnam i noticed most of the electric scooters were being ridden by younger people in general.Maybe a fad but maybe they are concerned with pollution and environment.
When they are living on $10 a week a fuel bill is significant.
They are quieter and have less moving parts hence less maintenance.
Can fill up anywhere there is a power point including place of work for free.
The city you live in has heaps of smog and petrol bikes are banned.
I bet ther is a few more reasons as well.
