    yes, many lawmakers, presidential candidates and past presidents took it for granted, that once you exhausted all legal avenues, you accept the outcome of the election and handover power peacefully.

    But Trump is a megalomaniac.

    He couldn't handover power willingly.

    He tried invoking Martial Law, but when the military didn't back him.

    He resorted to stoking the fire of his ardent supporters - lying to them again and again; that their votes were stolen, and egging them on to "Stop The Steal", by storming the Capitol.

    But for the Capitol police and secret service who stood in the way, many Members of Congress, including the Vice President, could have died on that day.

    And if it had succeeded, there would be no one to stop Trump from becoming the first Dictator of the United States.

    All so true. Trump is a wannabe dictator. He was the main coup plotter and will go down in history as a traitor. If not for spineless GOP senators he will no doubt be convicted for inciting insurrection. Nevertheless he will be indicted in criminal courts soon where spineless GOP are not jurors.
