But your talking about the "official left" aren't you ? Yes it is "insignificant" in that they are all on the same side, the side of the billionaires, including Trump who is a billionaire himself. Like Obama described, it's an "intramural scrimmage".
Liberal or labor, Democrat or Republican, they defend the system of the ultra rich. They may argue viciously over tactics but they all agree on the major policies, austerity and war.
Trump is not a break from that, he is the most right wing expression of it (so far).

"Many will suffer, but a few will gain immensely".

The poor, migrants and the working class will suffer. Billionaires will (have already) gain immensely.

That's that's why Trump supporters are just another part of the problem, not part of the solution. But their capacity for self delusion is astonishing.
