"So how does a new party grow when all avenues of news are monopolised by the media brick wall?"
I note that you mildly pilloried One Nation the other day regarding not cutting spending.
For a start, you would need to clarify what One Nation said they would not cut, as Malcolm Roberts and Pauline Hanson have both spoken at length about Government Waste.
That said, One Nation has surged post the recent Federal Election as they have a new voice in the name of one Malcolm Roberts.
Why has One Nation attracted interest post the election? Well it's because people could not see an alternative before the election, but now they do.
Roberts brings the combination of Education and Down to Earth Communication Skills that so many do not have and never will.
If I can put this quote up from Plato, that has held true from well before his time and will well after we have gone:
"One of the penalties of not participating in politics is that you will be governed by your inferiors." - Plato
The only solution for the current set of political problems, is that anybody that truly cares should join a political party of their choice that is pursuing their issues! It's as simple as that.
My disclosure is that I joined a political party for the first time in my life last year. I joined the ALA!
However, I may well swap to One Nation as I there is a lot to be said for joining forces with the momentum that One Nation has.
If all people want is some sort of "Big City Better End Of Town political party" then they should stay with the current crop of Trailer Trash that has taken us to where we are today and just stick to their same old same old pointless carping.
On the other hand, if people did something a little more productive than complaining and got on board a political party then they would be half way to solving their problems. They would also have some input into candidate selection and policy development.
The Media will not be able to beat the weight of numbers if only the numbers realized it.
