You misunderstood. That is just if he splits off and runs as an independent. Leading the republicans he can still win. There is so much that Biden, or whoever is running him, have made a mess of. The Dems will be on defense going into the prez election. I should have said he could wreck the chances of a presidential win. Remember the only reason the GOP came to power was Trump. Even when he lost he broke the record votes for an incumbent. In 1992 right wing politician Ross Perot ran for President taking 19% of the right vote, which was more than enough to allow Bill Clinton to sneak into power with a smaller vote than Dukakis lost to HW Bush in 88.
