after world war one - there was a similar organization - watso forgets what it was called (and cannot be bothered to google search - but just recalled - was it the league of nations???) but probably with similar aims as the UN .
maybe the original mandate of the UN could have been honourble - but then they got side tracked into all the climate change rubbish blah blah.
mmm watso just recalled how our own federation (or commonwealth) of states worked out... the states all thought that they could run their own affairs and let the federal (ie commonwealth) government look after foreign affairs (all written in the constitution) - so when the federal government started to sign up to UN stuff, then that also binded the states.
maybe to the world , the UN became something like what the federal government became to the states .. most signed up - but expecting to keep their own sovereignty..
