Something that annoys me is the Comsec notification that seems to be displayed every single day.

Let's call it what it is. This is an operational decision to understaff the phoneline contact channel relative to their user demand.
They are trying to nudge people towards self service and online support.
I'm tired of seeing it because I don't contact them.
"Longer than usual" in this context means annoyingly long for the user, but also exactly how long they have strategically chosen due to cost.
