Just because the government has agreed to sell you down the river, so long as more that 10% hold their shares, the company cannot be taken over.
A quick review shows that the proposed new owner now sells milk into Singapore and Indonesia amongst other places. In years gone by, Australia sold milk into those nations. It is called foreign exchange.
Furthermore, there is nothing stopping the importation of anything in containers holding the company brand. And the tooth fairy will have to stand by in the event that all of the production is taken off shore sometime in the future.
Taking food out of the mouths of Australian Babies to put into the stomach of those who are not necessarily our allies is national suicide.
Please pretty please if you are fortunate enough to hold BAL shares don't let them go to the foreign company. This is much deeper than simple dollars and cents.
